5th Annual Kid’s Car Show Displays Various Vintage Hollywood Rides

Car shows are a nice way of getting a look at old and new vehicles. What makes them even better when it’s done for charity. And that’s what Edelbrock did when they held their 5th Annual Revved Up 4 Kids car show in Torrance, California. The exhibit showcased an array of vintage Hollywood vehicles ranging from the 1960 Batmobile driven by Adam West, Herbie, The Back to the Future DeLorean, and a whole lot more. The proceeds generated by the annual show were donated to The Center for Learning Unlimited which helps kids with special needs and learning abilities. So in case you missed out on the exhibit, here are some images which you can feast your eyes on.

’38 Longhorn One Of The Stars of Texas Auction This June

’38 Longhorn One Of The Stars of Texas Auction This June

For something that came out in 1938, this is just one amazing piece of work. This car looks more like a battering ram than an ordinary street vehicle. This is probably why it got the name Longhorn. Anyway, this unique vehicle is part of the Pate Collection Auction which will be held on June 4 and 5 at Cresson Texas.

According to the press release for this vehicle, the 1938 Longhorn sports a 120-inch wheelbase and carries a length of 19 feet and four inches. But despite its size, this car weighs in only at 2,800 pounds. Yup, she’s as long and light as your ordinary super model. Complemented by a 1941 Lincoln V12 engine, this baby is definitely going to steal the thunder at the upcoming June auction.

So buyers interested in owning it and viewers wanting to set their eyes on this beauty, book a plane ride to Texas. Trust us, this baby won’t be around for so long.

Gaza Strip Brings Old Cars Back To Life

Gaza Strip Brings Old Cars Back To Life

The last thing you’d expect is for somebody to be able to pull off a restoration job in the middle of nowhere. Well, that’s apparently been proven wrong by Palestinian Mahfouz Caberetti, who does his restoration jobs in the Gaza Strip (of all places). While it can claim to have a beach front area (it is after all located in front of the Mediterranean Sea), it’s the last place you’d expect to see someone fervently restoring classic automobiles. But then again, weirder things have happened. Anyway, Mr. Caberetti focuses on restoring vintage Oldsmobile and Benzes during his spare time. He’s even got some free PR courtesy of BBC who came up with an audio slideshow to showcase his work. Not bad for somebody working in an area considered to be one of the dead spots of Mother Earth.

Fast & Furious ‘73 Camaro For Sale

Fast & Furious ‘73 Camaro For Sale

Fanatics of the latest Fast & Furious movie are sure going to get a kick out of this news feature. According to reports, the supped-up 1973 Camaro you see up there is going to be sold. The asking price though might cause your ears to bleed though. The car will be carrying a hefty price tag of $39,998. Yup, almost forty grand.

Even though it’s Vin Diesel’s character that drove this monster, the car can only give you a max of 350 horsepower. It may not be as powerful as you’d hope, especially since it was used in a movie that involves powerful cars. But nonetheless, it’s bound to make you the talk of the town if people see you driving in it.

So if you’re interested in getting some attention on the road, this car’s for you. You might not end up looking like Vin Diesel, but we’re positive that you’ll probably feel just like him when you’re driving it.

’53 Buick Defies The Law Of Aging

’53 Buick Defies The Law Of Aging

For a car that’s more than five decades old, this 1953 Buick looks like it never aged a bit. If only we could look this good 20 to 30 years from now. Imagine being able to retain your youthful appearance for so long? The possibilities are endless (probably even the women, or men, depending on your preference). Too bad the only one capable of bragging about that right now is this four-wheeled baby.

Villa d’Este To Unveil A Restored BMW 328

Villa d’Este To Unveil A Restored BMW 328

Like the car pictured above? If you do, you’re in luck. This retro vehicle, known as the BMW 328, will once again be brought to life at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este this month. This was done to coincide with the celebration of BMW’s Millie Miglia win during the 1940’s. Hopefully, the people working on the revival of this classic ride do a good job. The last thing we want is for the newer version to look like a shell of its former self during its unveiling.

Hybrid BeetleBus Spotted In Mexico

Hybrid BeetleBus Spotted In Mexico

Half-Beetle, half-bus, totally weird. That’s all we can think about at the sight of this vehicle. Located by the people from Jalopnik at the outskirt of Mexico, you got to wonder what its creator was smoking when he (or she) decided to come up with this vehicle. But despite its confusing look, it probably serves its purpose, whatever it may be.

Mustang Maker Donald Frey Passed Away

Mustang Maker Donald Frey Passed Away

Donald N. Frey, the man behind the development of the Mustang passed away last March 5 in Evanston, Illinois. He was 86 years old. According to his son, Christopher Frey, his father passed away due to a stroke. That’s another living legend in the automotive industry that has moved on. The Mustang would never have become a reality without this man and his team, which also included Lee Iacocca. Sadly, we will never get to see any more creative toys from this genius. Thanks again for the memories, Mr. Frey.

Owner Of ’61 Corvette Shows How You Can Take Care Of Your Ride

Now this is how you take care of a classic car. Located by the folks at Car Domain, the owner of this 1961 Corvette was able to maintain the quality of this car for 30 years. The only thing that kind of ruined its 30-year run of being in good condition was that it was repainted once. The owner even managed to keep the vehicle’s original documentation through the years. That’s how much he loves his car. And we strongly suggest that you do the same to yours as well.

Robocop’s Car Up For Sale

Robocop’s Car Up For Sale

Robocop was a big hit during the 80’s. Ask any one born during that time what they thought of this police officer-turned-cyborg and they’ll tell you that he’s one of the baddest (put your choice adjective here) on the planet. Now while it’ll be hard for anyone to put himself or herself in Robocop’s shoes, they might find it easier to drive around in his police car. Yup, you heard that right. The authentic Robocop police car is currently being auctioned by the Volvo Auto Museum located outside of Chicago. The car, which is actually a 1986 Ford Taurus, will have a price tag of $19,000. It’s that cheap. Of course, even if you do have the car, there’s no guarantee that you’ll get the same impact just like Robo did every time you step out of the driver seat. But the pleasure of seeing other people ogle at you and your ride will still be probably worth it.
