Vintage Rides In The New Fast And Furious Movie

The new Fast and the Furious is coming up. That means more car chases, chicks, and most important of all, more cars for us car fanatics. Of course, not all vehicles in the movie will be vintage cars. It’s going to be a mix of the old and the new. However, we’ll focus our attention on the vintage vehicles you can expect to see in the new movie.

1970 Chevelle SS

By the looks of it, this is what Vin Diesel’s character Dom will be driving in. According to Car Domain, this muscle car will be packed with a 502 big block engine. The engine will be combined NOS and a ProCharger blower and will also be equipped with a Hotchkis suspension, a Wilwood 4-disc brake system, and a set of 17” Coys wheels. And to complete its look, it’s given a slick black finish, just to match the intensity of Diesel’s character.

Buick GNX

What looks to be a second generation GNX (built from 1978 to 1987), it’s one of the vehicles that will end up being a wreck once the movie is done. Considered a popular vehicle during its time, the Buick GNX was a favorite among car owners of the 80’s since it was used for racing competitions, particularly NASCAR. Just like its contemporaries, this Buick GNX will be sporting a V-6 engine, although it will come with a Spearco intercooler.

1972 Ford Gran Torino

Given the success of this vehicle when it was released (496,645 units sold along with the “Best Buy” approval from Consumer Guide in 1972), it’s nice to see the 1972 Gran Torino make an appearance in this flick. While no word has been leaked as to who will be driving this beauty, this Ford Gran Torino will be sporting a Holley-carbed 429 engine that will be paired up with a Hurst 4-speed transmission.

F-Bomb Camaro

While it looks like it came from the junk shop (or from the last World War), the Camaro owned by David Freiburger isn’t something you should take lightly. It’s equipped with a 406 engine courtesy of Nelson Racing Engines that’s paired up with a set of twin 28 psi turbochargers. That allows the car by the way to produce 1,550 horsepower. Although it’s been said that it will make an appearance in the new movie, according to David Freiburger, the only things that you’ll probably see from this car is its wheels and its engines. Let’s hope that’s not the case.

1970 Dodge Charger

Remember the car that Vin Diesel’s character, Dom, drove in the latter part of the firt Fast and the Furious movie? Well, it’s making a comeback despite being a total wreck after it flipped over. Based on the info gathered, the Dodge Charger is set to have a 426 Hemi engine along with a huge BDS blower. It will also come with Headman headers, a Flowmaster exhaust, and a Wilwood front and rear brakes.

So if you want to see more of these classic rides, be sure to catch the upcoming Fast and Furious movie when it hits the theatres this June.
